Course Description:

Are you frequently confronted with patients who have severe bleeding, heavy biofilm, and calculus during dental cleaning procedures? Often, the hurried nature of our work leads us to overlook critical steps, impeding the efficient management of our schedules and hindering patients' willingness to accept optimal care. This course proposes solutions to these challenges, offering valuable insights that can prove beneficial to new graduates, temp hygienists, and seasoned practitioners alike. Kerry will cover ways to communicate your findings to patients to improve their understanding and agree to the treatment recommendations. By using the assessment phase as a guide, we can create a dental hygiene diagnosis, develop a treatment plan, choose interventions, and assess our progress. Emphasis will be placed on the importance of collecting information from chart reviews, medical histories, periodontal examinations, radiographs, and biofilm analyses to improve the efficiency of the appointment. This lecture will discuss opportunities to plan and prioritize appointment flow, reduce stress levels, and improve our patients' oral health outcomes. Let's strike while the iron is hot and ensure your dental hygiene appointments run smoothly.
